What is a Trashcan?

What is a trashcan?
To a toddler: It's just a shelf for his ugly toys;
To a student: It's where he keeps his bad test papers;
To a teenager: A basketcase for the letters of an ex-lover;
To a writer: It's a file for rejected drafts;
BUT to a streetchild: With a trashcan, so goes LIFE..
See how blessed YOU are?
This message was forwarded to me through text message by my cousin. He sent this a week ago but I did not bother to read because I thought this was one of those "non-sense" messages being passed around. But, I was wrong. the message hit me straight through the heart. After I read it, I made my own reflection.
More often than not, we are ungrateful of the things God gave us. We don't like it when we don't have this or that. Sometimes we don't want to go out of our comfort zones and of our own little perfect world. In short, we just don't care of what's happening in our society. They say that 38-40% of Filipinos consider themselves very poos. Can you just imagine that? We see poverty each day, it's everywhere. But what things have done to make a difference for them? Millions of people cannot even eat three square meals a day, and if they could afford to, they eat those MSG-infested noodles, canned goods, dried fish, etc.. A lot of children die because of eating spoiled food from the trashcans or dump sites. What can WE offer them? Some of us can't even think of them. Many do not care if those little children die of starvation, are being raped, or abused. I know that because sometimes I don't care. Yes, I don't care. There are times I pity them but I still can't do anything for them. Even the government who has lots of money cannot give them a DECENT home, or hospital. They spend millions in national defense, sports, and other things. But then, many of us know that they are able but will NOT make a difference for these people. Well, I pray that one of us can.
I don't know if everyone who read the text message hit them the same way it did to me. I hope... HOPE... Hope... hope...

UP ang galing mo!

here's the lyrics of the UP centannial song..

UP Ang Galing Mo!
Narito kami nagpupugay
Sa unibersidad ng aming buhay
Ikaw pa rin ang binabalikan
‘Di pa rin malilimutan
Ikaw ang UP naming mahal

Salamat sa iyong mga guroS
alamat sa inyong pagtuturo
Taglay niyo ang kahusayan
Taglay niyo ang karunungan
Hinubog niyo kami sa kabutihan

Sandaang taon na tayo
Lagi ka pa rin sa aming puso
Kaya’t kami sumasaludo
UP ang galing mo!
UP ang galing mo!

Wala nang iba pang maihahambing
Sa talino mo’t angking galing
Daanin man sa siyensya
Hi-tech man o kahit ano pa
Ikaw UP ang nangunguna

Sa iyong mga dugo ang kasaysayan
Dumaloy sa pag-unlad ng ating bayanS
agisag ka ng kagitingan
Bandila ka ng kalayaan
Pag-asa ka ng mamamayan

Sandaang taon na tayo
Lagi ka pa rin sa aming puso
Sandaang taon na tayo
UP ang galing mo!
UP ang galing mo!

Sandaang taon na tayo
Dangal ka ng Pilipino
Sentro ka ng pagbabago
UP ang galing mo!

Sandaang taon na tayo
UP ang galing mo!
UP ang galing mo!

University of the Philippines Centennial Celebration

Last Saturday, January 26, we had our centannial celebration. We paraded though downtown Iloilo for like hours, it was very exhausting and kind of boring. We also had Senator Kiko Pangilinan as a guest and UP President ROman was also there
ME and my friends decided to spend the rest of the day in SM City, and we stayed there until 11Pm. I bought 2 shirts for myself(Bratt USA), they were worth Php 150 each (sale!!!). The money

was from my sister Janet, she gave it to me last year for my birthday.:) And I also bought a VCD( Shallow Hal, Php 75) which was also on sale. I ordered a jacket from UP Maroons which was quite expensive.:) Ate Argee was with us the whole time.:) We decided to sleep in the city so that we could watch Dinagyang the next day. We payed Php 462 for the night. We had breakfast ate JDs Bakeshop(who also serves rice), the food was really delicious. YUm! yum! We went to Robinson's mall and I bought another shirt for Php99. I aslo bought my first Michael Crchton book( Sphere, php75) and my first Bob Ong book( Stainless Longganisa, php 150). Anyways, I had a very great time though we were tired when we went home.:)

pol sci 14-oral exam

We just had our oral exam in Political Science 14 awhile ago. I consider my professor, Sir Talledo, as one of the most notorious professor in UPV. I was really very nervous during the oral exam BUT surprisingly, i got the highest score, which is 2.0. I know the grade is not that big but then I'm a bit proud of myself because of the score I got. We had also a handful of upperclassmen with us. Prof. Talledo is the nephew of Prof. Ledesma who was rumored to give Sen. Miriam Santiago a grade of 5.0 in his subject.

I was so nervous becauseI wasn't able to study well.I had an exam yesterday which was very tough.

I am really very thankful to God, because He is always guiding me.
